Welcome! My Spooktacular Outfit!

Get ready to imagine your most amazing Halloween costume!

Greet students warmly. Ask them what they love about Halloween to get them excited.

What's Your Favorite Part of Halloween?

Is it the candy? The spooky decorations? Or maybe... the costumes?!

Open the floor for a brief discussion. Encourage everyone to share one thing. This is a great way to gauge their prior knowledge and excitement.

Let's Imagine!

Today, we get to be costume designers! What will your dream Halloween outfit look like?

Introduce the day's activity. Emphasize 'imagination' and 'designing.'

Costume Inspiration!

Think about all the fun costumes you've seen!

  • Animals
  • Superheroes
  • Fairytale characters
  • Spooky monsters!

Show examples to spark ideas. Ask questions like, 'What colors do you see?' 'Is this costume scary or silly?' 'What kind of animal is that?'

Design Your Spooktacular Outfit!

Now it's your turn!

  • Draw your amazing Halloween costume.
  • Use your favorite colors!
  • Add all the details that make it special.

Explain the worksheet activity. Remind them to think about colors and details. Circulate and assist as they draw.

Show and Tell!

Time to share your incredible creations!

What did you design? What makes your outfit spooktacular?

Facilitate sharing. Ask each student to show their drawing and describe their costume using 1-2 words they learned (e.g., 'My sparkly unicorn!' or 'My fast superhero!').
