Lesson Plan

Mind Your Manners

Students will recognize the effects of cussing, rudeness, and disrespect, then practice respectful language and following instructions through discussion, role-play, and personal goal-setting.

Explicitly teaching respectful behavior promotes a positive classroom community, builds empathy, and prevents conflicts. Fifth graders gain tools to replace rude words and actions with kind, cooperative alternatives, supporting academic success and strong peer relationships.
