Lesson Plan

Time In Teachable Moments

Students will learn to recognize strong emotions and use the ‘Time In’ strategy—pausing to reflect in the classroom’s Reflection Corner. They will define Time In, practice via guided dialogue, and complete an exit ticket to plan future use.

Teaching Time In empowers students with a positive, proactive self-regulation tool that fosters emotional awareness and community support. It encourages reflection over punishment, builds coping skills, and contributes to a calm, inclusive classroom culture.
