In this 30-minute SEL session, 4th graders will explore the power of kindness through AVID’s WICOR strategies—writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading. Students will discuss real-life kindness scenarios, take collaborative notes, and create personal kindness pledges. This engaging lesson builds empathy, strengthens classroom community, and equips students with habits of mind for lifelong positive relationships.

In this 30-minute, one-session lesson for 4th graders, students will discover what a Growth Mindset is, why it’s important, and how they can apply it to their own learning. Through interactive activities and reflection, students will learn to embrace challenges, persist when things get tough, and see effort as the path to mastery.
