A quick, 15-minute, hands-on lesson for 7th graders focused on CASEL’s Responsible Decision-Making. Students learn a simple four-step “SMART” acronym to help them pause, reflect, and choose wisely—invaluable for daily choices both in and out of school.
Students learn to identify pros and cons quickly through a guided framework, helping them make more thoughtful decisions in everyday situations. This 15-minute Tier 1 lesson equips 7th graders with a simple, interactive blueprint for responsible decision-making using CASEL’s framework.
Students will become Decision Detectives by identifying what responsible decisions are, creating a class rules list, and applying these rules to real-life scenarios. This lesson fosters critical thinking and ethical reasoning, helping 7th graders practice making responsible choices. Audience: 7th grade, Tier 1, 1 session, 15 minutes.
