In this 30-minute lesson, 6th graders will explore the concept of perspective by analyzing stories and real-life scenarios through different viewpoints. Learning to see situations from multiple angles builds empathy and critical thinking. This Tier 1 classroom lesson includes engaging activities, discussion prompts, a slide deck, and exit ticket.
A small-group workshop that helps 7th graders break down decisions step by step using real-life examples to build critical thinking and self-awareness. This Tier 2 workshop aligns with CASEL’s Responsible Decision-Making competency and runs for one 30-minute session.
Students in a 6th grade social skills small group will learn strategies to pause and think before acting. Over one 40-minute Tier 2 session, they’ll co-create a Think-Then-Act plan, practice identifying ‘pause points’ in scenarios, reflect on impulsive triggers, and track their progress with an Impulse Log. This session builds self-regulation skills to help reduce impulsive behaviors in real-life settings.
